We are very proud of the positive relationships that we form with our parents and carers at Brockley. All parents/carers enter into a home school agreement when their children first start school and this sets out expectations in terms of work and behaviour. There are lots of opportunities for parents to get involved including: supporting children with their homework through the many and varied training workshops her offer, going on trips, getting involved in FOBS and attending class assemblies and Open Evenings.
Our Meet & Greet procedures are extremely beneficial and help dialogue be maintained daily.

Friends of Brockley Newsletter
We hope you all had a great 6 weeks holiday. We would like to take this opportunity to welcome everyone to FBOS and provide some information about our role and how we support school.
We are a small group of parents, grandparents, carers and staff who volunteer and organise events such as Bingo Night and the Christmas Fayre.
We run these events to raise money to support the school’s needs. During these austere times when school budgets are being cut it is important that we support the school in purchasing playground equipment, reading books and subsidise visits to broaden the curriculum.
We are always looking for new ideas for events as well as volunteers to help run them and would love to see you at our next meeting on Monday 18th September. Everyone is welcome so please spread the word, come along straight after drop off in the hall.
I am Samantha Ellis and I have two infant aged children at Brockley, I am available on the playground in the morning and after school most days – please come and say hello!
Thanks to the generosity of parents we have supported several school initiatives:
- Purchase Tree Top Books to challenge our more able readers
- Subsidised the Space Centre Trip for Lions as well as the annual pantomime visit to The Winding Wheel
This year we are working with the School Council to help improve the outside area and in particular improving our playground.
Planning for the Christmas Fayre is already underway and guess who I have already spoken to? Santa – who has once again agreed to visit Brockley and meet all our children.
The Christmas Fayre was a huge success last year and we would love to make it even better, if anyone would like to help, run a stall or has any ideas or suggestions – please come to the meeting or speak to a member of FOBS. We need your help – without FOBS we will not have a Christmas Fayre.
LET’S SHOW SANTA THE BROCKLEY WAY!
Make sure you check your child’s bag for flyers on the events we are running during the autumn term.
