Brockley Primary School Transforms into Hogwarts for a Magical Christmas Extravaganza
Brockley Primary School cast a spell over children, staff, and families as it was transformed into the enchanting world of Hogwarts this Christmas. From the moment you arrived, it was clear this was no ordinary festive celebration. The school’s exterior was turned into Platform 9¾, complete with a brick wall portal for the children to make the journey to Hogwarts for the start of their wizarding education; this truly set the scene for a truly magical experience.
Inside, the school hall became the Great Hall of Hogwarts, adorned with floating candles, festive garlands, and long tables reminiscent of the wizarding world’s most iconic dining space. The Brockley Team worked tirelessly to bring the magic to life, creating an atmosphere that left both children and families in awe.
Throughout the day, a host of Hogwarts-inspired activities captured the imaginations of everyone involved. Children had the chance to meet real live owls and learn about their habitats and behaviours as well as taking part in Quidditch matches outside, and immersing themselves in hands-on wand-making workshops. Herbal lessons added a dash of magical learning, as children explored potions of Mermaid Tears, feeling like true wizards and witches.

The teaching team have lots of ‘Experience Days’ planned for the coming year and we hope that by inspiring awe and wonder children will love coming to school to learn.
Our first ‘Experience Day’ was a visit with James McKay from The National Falconry School

Meet Brockley's Reading Ambassadors 2024

Reading Ambassadors 2024
Reading Ambassadors wear lanyards so that they are easily recognisable across the school, and have their own reading display where they share a recent favourite read.
They help reading successes across the school and shout about their peers who are flourishing.
We cherish and support our Reading Ambassadors and are proud of the difference they make.
