Welcome to Brockley Primary School

Brockley Primary School, is a safe, welcoming, and nurturing community where every child is valued. We pride ourselves on knowing each pupil as an individual, helping them uncover their unique strengths and talents. By fostering a sense of belonging and creating an environment where children feel supported, we enable every child to flourish, face challenges with confidence, and achieve their full potential.

Our Vision: "The Brockley Way – Only My Best Is Good Enough"

At the heart of our ethos is our school motto, which drives everything we do. We aim to:

  • Nurture creativity and encourage independent thinking and learning.

  • Emphasise resilience, demonstrating that failure is an opportunity for growth.

  • Inspire every child to aspire to be their very best.

High Expectations for All

We maintain relentlessly high expectations for ourselves and our pupils, ensuring all children in our school community thrive. We work closely with families to help every child achieve their potential, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally.

A Holistic and Inclusive Approach

At Brockley Primary School, we provide an innovative, aspirational, and inclusive learning experience. We reflect on and adapt our teaching methods to ensure that learning is:

  • Creative, engaging, and stimulating.

  • Challenging and goal-oriented.

  • Accessible and enjoyable for all pupils.

We believe that by offering children a wide range of opportunities, we can ignite their love of learning, equip them with essential skills, and inspire them to achieve great things.

Collaboration and Partnerships

We recognise the immense value of working collaboratively with other schools to continuously improve our approach to teaching and learning. Our partnerships enable us to share best practices, celebrate our successes, and reflect on how to make further progress.

One of our key collaborations is with the Bolsover Excellence Schools Trust (BEST), a partnership of 10 local schools with shared values and principles. Through BEST, we challenge and support each other in our collective journey towards excellence. This collaboration ensures robust reflection, external data reviews, and action plans that drive sustained improvement for both individual schools and the group as a whole.

Our Commitment to Continuous Improvement

Brockley Primary School is proud to be part of the Derbyshire County Council's family of schools, meeting high expectations for safeguarding, curriculum development, and performance outcomes as outlined by the Department for Education (DfE). Our most recent Ofsted inspection in June 2019 recognised our efforts, awarding us a "Good" rating in all areas.

We are committed to:

  • Providing the highest standards of education for all children, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

  • Aligning with the Derbyshire SEND Local Offer, ensuring inclusive practices and tailored support for all pupils.

  • Offering a robust, broad, and balanced curriculum that meets national requirements while inspiring lifelong learning.
