School Entry and Exit Changes on Polling Day (Thursday 1st May 2025)

As you may be aware, our school will be used as a Polling Station on Thursday 1st May 2025. While the Polling Station will be located in a self-contained area of the Community Room, we have put additional measures in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all pupils, staff, and visitors throughout the day.

Please take note of the temporary changes to drop-off and collection arrangements for this day only:

Zebra & Monkey Classes

• Drop-off and collection will take place via the school office entrance.
• Additional staff will be on duty to supervise and support children and families.
• Please follow staff instructions to ensure a smooth and safe process.

Giraffe, Elephant & Lion Classes

• Drop-off and collection will take place as usual via the junior green gates.
• Staff will be present to supervise and maintain secure access.

All internal and external routes between the polling area and the rest of the school will be securely closed off. Voters will have no access to pupil areas. Clear signage and barriers will be in place to direct public footfall away from children and learning areas.

In addition, school staff will:

• Monitor all site access points throughout the day.
• Carry out regular headcounts and maintain heightened vigilance.
• Support children in understanding the polling activity in an age-appropriate way to reduce anxiety.

We would like to reassure you that pupil safety remains our highest priority, and all arrangements have been risk assessed.
