Welcome Back, Communication and Derbyshire SEND Inspection

Good morning and welcome back!

We hope your child has had a successful week and settled into the new routine - if there's anything you're not sure about please contact your child's classteacher in the first instance who will be happy to help.

School is a busy place with lots going on for both staff and children this term. Please ensure we have the correct email contact information for you as we rarely send paper copies of letters and information (if you need a paper copy ask at the office) and please do sign up for notifications from the school diary via the website Calendar - Brockley Primary School

Please remember school starts at 8:40am and that both gates are open from 8:30am to enable a 'soft' drop off and try to prevent a build up of traffic and ease parking issues.

SEND Inspection - Derbyshire County Council

We have received the following information from Derbyshire County Council - it is so important you have your voice heard so please do click on the link and share your views.

We want to inform you that Derbyshire County Council is currently undergoing a joint Ofsted and Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection focused on services for children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This is a key moment for parent carers to share their experiences and feedback on the support provided within our local area.

The inspection began on the 9th September, and onsite fieldwork will take place from 23rd to 27th September. This inspection covers all children and young people aged 0 to 25 who receive SEND services, including those with an Education, Health, and Care (EHC) plan as well as those receiving SEN support. It is being conducted to assess how well education, health, and care services are working together to meet the needs of children and young people with SEND.

We strongly encourage you to participate and share your thoughts on this Ofsted organised survey on how SEND services are impacting your family. It’s the perfect opportunity to make your voice heard and contribute to improving services in our community. We are aware that you have recently completed our survey and we are really please to say that we received over 400 responses, which we are in the process of analysing to present to Ofsted on your behalf.

You can provide your feedback directly through the Ofsted survey by clicking the link below:

Your input is invaluable in helping ensure that children and young people with SEND in Derbyshire receive the best possible support.

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend
